Rachel lives in Central Gippsland , in Maffra. Her home has equip her with excellent space for her art practise in sculpture and drawing.
The local environment of dry bush, wildflowers, creeks and rivers are her inspiration and muse. She seeks to explore issues such as the effect of humans on our environment and the history of impact. Rachel appreciates the elemental wonders of mountain, rock, rivers and bush and endeavours to convey this in her art works.
Rachel studied sculpture and drawing at Monash. She chose Monash as the lecturers valued the craft of using materials and developing skills along side expression of ideas. This value is present in her work.
